When I started having Liam, my grandson, over for bedtime babysitting, I always told him bedtime stories. Those stories always began the same way: "Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, lived a beautiful prince. He had brown hair, brown eyes, a little button nose, red ruby lips, and he was very happy." One day, the beautiful prince stretched his arms out wide and said, "Whatever will I do today?" And that is where the adventure began. We fought dragons, chased dinosaurs, went deep-sea fishing, rowed huge whales, and visited fantastical places. These enchanting bedtime stories lasted for twelve years. When I had a second set of grandchildren, I kept the tradition alive. The story stayed the same: "Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, lived two beautiful princes..." One night, when I began the story again, Kyler put his hand up and said, "Stop. I don’t want to hear any stories about princes." I asked, "Oh no? What would you like to hear?" He replied, "Tell me a story about poop." "Poop?" I said. "Yes," he answered. "I want to hear about poop adventures." As you can imagine, I was a little stumped — and it required some imagination. But the story went: "Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, lived a beautiful pile of poop. He had brown hair, brown eyes, and cute little bouncy sneakers." One day, the pile of poop woke up, stretched his arms out wide, and said, "Whatever will I do today? I am Poo. I have nothing to do." Then a farmer came by and stepped on him. Poo held tight to the farmer’s shoe — and now he was going places. And that is how this children's story series, The Places Poo Goes, was born. I hope you love and enjoy it as much as I do. — Bobbie
